Sailing/Racing Janet Baxter

If you sail big/small, race/cruise the US Sailing organization has been an active part of sailing since 1897.
Janet Baxter has been nominated as the next President of US Sailing.  She has worked hard and long for this position.
I first met Janet in 1978 at Laser regattas around Chicago. We have been close friends ever since.
Janet and I have done a lot together whether sailing dinghy's or racing offshore, hitting the bars, dances and parties.
I describe Janet this way - there are few people who I would trust with my boat, Janet Baxter is one of the few.

Janet at one of my dinner parties.  I like to tell people I knew Janet before she had gray hair.

One party coincided with Janet's birthday.  She was very surprised.

Janet always had an eye for the boys, this one did not make the first cut.  Basic rule one - you must be a sailor or at least handsome.

Informal dinner parties, whenever I had something planned or unplanned JB was invited.

I had floor parties with a keg of beer and I would invite my friends.  Janet knew all my friends and all my friends know JB.

Now here is a shot that will never be on the cover of US Sailing
